Deepika disappoints at the HDIL Couture week 2010

Ya we are so disappointed to see Deepika wear this ugly gown at a jewlery show launch and then a Karren miller dress at the party.

What were you thinking Dee?

Looking solid at The HDIL Couture week 2010

Here are those who chose solids and did well with them at the Couture week. Ya if you didn't know there was a dress code at the Couture week read the posts below.

1. Rani Mukherjee: We are glad she's off black and jumpsuits. Not like we love the dress thought it was a bit unflattering given her body type but she fared well. How I wish she didn't choose those strappy's

2. Gauri Khan: Always impresses. The queen more often than not gets it right. Absolutely love the colour on her.

3. Bhavna Pandey: Again its a love, she looks lovely in this navy tube.

4. Maheep Kapoor: The kapoor in Maheep seems to be coming aloud with this blong olive dress. The red clutch no no no

5. Laila Lamba: Her trademark statement jewelry paired with a classic dress.

6.Suchitra Pillai: Bling it on baby. Its too much

Printed at the HDIL Couture week 2010

So here are those preferred the dress code in prints:

1. Twinkle Khanna: I know if I were to see this dress on anyone else they wouldn't wear it like this but that's what sets Twinkle apart. She clearly looks fab mixing two prints together and adding so much bling with the belt & pumps. Wow!

2. Urmila: looks good but don't like the dress too much

3. Shamita Shetty: wow after a long time... It's tricky to do the animal print right but she does it well

4. Sharmila khanna: I like the subtle print on the sleeves and not going too loud with the print given her body type

5. Suzanne Roshan a bit too day & summery

6. Surily Goel: same expression setting the clothes to look horrid

7. Prerna Goel: chic classic lover her style

8. Malaika Arora: Ya she goes in the print category with the zebra stripes. How we love anything that she wears. Truly. Love love love

9. Sushma Reddy: simple & chic. Love it

10. Sophie Chowdhary: Sophie's got to break away from her same old style. Good but tad bit boring

11. Queenie is always on the prowl distastefully

Doing Black at the HDIL Couture week 2010

So clearly The couture week had more Bollywood turnout than the LFW. It also had a 3 distinct wardrobes that most celebs followed. Either it was black, and a lot of it, there was some solid brights & there were prints and more likely animal prints.

So heres the first set with black.

1. Farah Khan Ali: We know you love black and its a good LBD but you got to move on. Love the hair... makes you look very chic

2. Soniya: Missed it with the lipstick that was a loud and too messy. Sorry babes but this one was wrong. Those lace booties also didnt help much

3. Raveena Tandon: No comments

4. Priya Dutt: How about a smile

5. Amrita Arora & Karisma Kapoor: Both momies seem to be trying hard to get back in shape & so black was a good choice. Karisma looked a bit off. Amrita looked fab in the dress but those sandals...uggh

6. Shilpa Shetty: wow, the dress super chic and all the accessorization especially the waist belts. Its a love

7. Sonali Bendre: we expected a bot more... probably some solids with a bib necklace

8. Mallaika Khan: WE've seenthis one before and dont fancy it.

9. Seema khan: lost...

10. Nandita Mahtani: while I love the dress especially the detailing on the shoulder Nandita looked so lost. Aren't her peep toe sthe same as Malaikas

11. Sameera Reddy: Uggh! don't like the dress or the hair do

Verve Oct 10: The BEST DRESSED issue

So here we have Kangana on the Verve October Cover featuring the best dressed women

Am not sure if Kanganas got to be on the cover given her last few appearances.Anyways until I grab my copy which I am dying to lets wait & watch.

Also not surprised to see Soniya Mehra on that list at all. Here is a picture of her from the magazine. Love the hair, the ruffles and olive skirt. The red contrast stappy works really well adding colour & height! Well deserved lady!

TREND ALERT: THE JUMPSUIT

This trend is here to stay ladies so stock it up. This season however, they are becoming less sweet and cutesy and more edgy and experimental.

Here are some of examples of style stars like Heidi Klum, Rihanna, Lauren Conrad and Fearne Cotton wearing some new generation all-in-ones.

We've got a lot of Indian celebs also who have attempted this but except Bipasha & Sushmita don't think anybody's got it right.

My favourite actually absolute favourite was JLO at the American Idol judge announcement where she clubbed this grey piece with some chunky heels & jewelry. Her hair was just right to pull through the trend. Love it!

Try different lengths basis your height and club it with accessories if its a solid. Throw in a boyfriend blazer for a formal do and leave it relaxed for a more day look.

The one woman I'd love to see in jumpsuit would be Sonam Kapoor. I'm sure she will get it right and in style

Sneak Peak

Ok guys this exclusively for you. We have a sneak peak into Manish Malhotras HDIL Couture week collection that begins tomorrow.

First I have to admit I love his collections always, yes they get predictable sometimes but I it's just so feminine & flattering that it reminds me of days when we would sit with those pattern books at the tailor and say please stitch this style for me.
The fits, cuts and tassles of the blouses or the detailing at the bottom of the churidaar really make me keep these for future reference.

Love the colours and the detailing at the back on the kurta. Absolutely stunning!

P.S. The embroidery on the sleeve is very similar to the kurta that Ash chose for the Robot Screening
