The Patiala girl

I have come to the conclusion that nobody plays the Patiala girl as well as Anushka Sharma. She truly has mastered the art of playing a good Punjabi girl and I must confess she does a good job with it.

1. She looks great in Indian & western wear, but Indian most definitely
2. She loves Patiala salwars
3. She acts like a punjabi girl effortlessly

Having said that she did look great even in Badmaash Company but all her films are centered around Punjab and the next one is even called Patiala house.

What do you guys think, do you know anyone else who does Patiala better than her?

P.S. The stylist for Band Baaja Baraat was Neharika Khan & she won the Apsara Award for best costumes. Congrats Neharika. We love you. Neharika styles most of Farhan Akhtar films, the last one being Karthik calling Karthik

It intrigued me

I dont know how I stumbled upon this trailer but dam i wanted to see it because the name was really intriguing and once you watch the trailer it for sure leaves you with a feeling " I definitely want to watch this film"

Priyanka definitely looks great in character and must say the styling really helps play up each of the characters. I know its a Vishal Bhardawaj film so its got to be dark, intense and fab but this one leaves you with a feeling of I hate this woman already and why is she doing this?

Making headlines

So Anushka Sharma is definitely making headlines first with a super hit film that everybody seem to have written off. Then with winning the best actress award and now with a statement that really impressed me.

The mumbai Mirror reported and I quote. "Anushka buys her first expensive bag"

Anushka Sharma who is riding high on the success of Band Baaja Baarat is not a material girl. The young lass is strongly against endorsing expensive bags. Anushka says, "I don't think actresses should flaunt their branded bags. It sets a wrong trend and misleads young girls who cannot afford them. They get influenced and thus pressurize their parents to let them work in a call centre, so that they can earn enough money to afford such bags." The actress makes a candid confession, "In fact I bought my first branded bag recently while shooting for Patiala House in London. I went to a high end shop and fell in love with this expensive bag. It took me three days to decide whether to buy it or not. I even harrowed my mom and called her many times in those three days to ask whether I should spend so much on a bag or not."

I seem to agree with it. I definitely find young girls and boys today trying to figure out how they can buy all those expensive bags, shoes and invest in vanity that they cannot afford. Even if its not expensive the influence of fashion is so high that we all stretch ourselves to invest more in fashion than we can afford. I'm sure you agree

BUSINESS CHIC

I know these 2 ladies always get it right when business is concerned. First the move to buy the team and know how to deal with all the controversies going with it.

But what they do a fab job at is getting their business dressing so bang on. Both Preity & Shilpa are wearing these amazing business, dresses, suits on various occasions that absolutely makes me want those pieces and want them now.

P.S. What I also like about Preity is she is doing more meaningful stuff than just being spotted at random parties. Love the intelligent woman.

Flaunting it

If there is another lady who loves her curves and know she has them all is Priyanks Chopra. Fitted minis is so her.

Priyanka was at the Filmfare award nominations announcement ceremony. After a long time she gets it quite right. Don't fancy the dress too much but boy she looks good.

Those shoes on my lust list. Absolutely love them.

And for all those still wondering who is the first one its Shilpa Shetty

VIDYA BALAN SARI STYLE

She is one women who was critiqued so badly that it actually helped her to create a niche fir herself. To give her credit she did it dam well. She stuck to it and trust me it takes courage to do that given she is 20 something and her contemporaries are sporting the best designer labels and going shorter than short.

I love saris and love the way Vidya wears it with so much ease and makes it look so sexy. Ya actually she really brings the sex back in the saree. I really wish I could have these sarees but obviously not at the Sabyasaachi price... clearly cant afford it. I wish women in India would understand that classic traditional sarees look really gorgeous and they need to be embellished with crystals & diamonds all the times. Hate those Archana Kocchar types.

My serach for these sarees continues so until then I post these pics confessing I love them.
